Gallery: Girls Varsity Basketball Falls to Olathe North 69-51

The Olathe North Eagles won the tip off and immediately scored on the first drive of the game. That lead did not remain for long as sophomore Darcy Kroening scored the very next possession. The scoring remained back and forth, with the end of the first quarter resulting in an Eagle lead of 11-10. Olathe North stayed strong entering the second quarter, with a 23-point scoring run and holding the Lancers to only four points, with a halftime score of 34-14. After halftime, many three pointers were scored from the Lancers, including shots from seniors Fina Kessler and Sydney Eck, and by freshmen Stella Harris and Lucy Dillon. This, however, was not enough to defeat the Eagles, as they nearly doubled their score in the second half while holding the Lancers to 51 points, with a final score of 69-51.

The next girls’ varsity basketball game will take place at Olathe East High School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
