Gallery: Girls Varsity Basketball Defeats SM West 53-18

Starting with a performance of the National Anthem from the Prairie Elementary School choir for Little Lancer Night, the Lancers hosted SM West, and defeated the Vikings 53-18 on Friday, Feb. 21. The Lancers were up 11-3 after the first quarter of the game. They stayed in the lead against the Vikings 22-8, at the end of the second quarter. During half-time, the Lancer Dancers performed their game day routine. At the end of the third quarter, the Lancers led 34-16. At the end of the game, the Lancers defeated the Lady Vikings 53-18. Their record is now 9-10.

The Lancers next play on Tuesday, Feb. 25 against Olathe West at Shawnee Mission East at 5:30 p.m.

Going into her second year on staff, Junior Annie Trenkle is a photographer for the Harbinger. Outside of taking photos she is a part of the IB program and her favorite class in school is AP Physics. Annie’s outside of school activities include soccer, tennis, and basketball. She is also the chair of Harvesters Give Lunch and Wayside Waifs SHARE organizations. However, she can also be found doing the things she loves most which is traveling, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. »

Sophomore Molly McDermed will be starting her 2nd semester of Harbinger this year as a staff photographer and ads manager. When she isn't stressing about ads sales or the next time she takes photos, she is practicing to become a college tennis player. Molly is most excited for the free deadline food and the endless memories this year! »
