Gallery: Girls Swim and Dive Places First at District Meet

Girls varsity and junior varsity swim and dive placed first at a district-wide meet with a 1,050-point score on Saturday, March 23 at Shawnee Mission Aquatic Center. Only Shawnee Mission schools were invited to this meet. SM East was followed by SM Northwest who scored 339 points, SM South scored 236 points, SM North scored 191 points and SM West scored 132 points. Out of the meet’s 12 events, SM East placed first in five. This week’s dive was backs, so each diver was required to complete two backward dives. Varsity diver, Riley Scott, placed first scoring 345 points and qualifying for state. Senior Claire Goettsch placed third with 173 points and Senior Hallie O’Bryan placed fourth with 153 points.

The girls swim and dive teams will have their next meet on Tuesday, March 26 at Shawnee Mission Aquatic Center at 3:30 p.m.
