Gallery: Girls Soccer Tryouts

The Shawnee Mission East girls’ soccer team held tryouts on Monday-Thursday the week before spring break. The coaches for this year include head coach, Jamie Kelly, JV coach Elliot Pattison, and C-Team coach Maggie Thomas. The girls competed in many scrimmages along with running and agility work. The last two days of tryouts were held in the Aux gym due to low temperatures and ice. The teams will begin practice on Monday, March 4th.

Senior Sarah Golder is super excited to go into her third year on staff and figure out how to be a co-Photo Editor. Along with Harbinger, Sarah is involved in NHS, Youth Against Climate Change Club, JSU, traveling, AP classes, and volunteering at animal shelters being swarmed by super cute puppies. Junior Elle Karras is excited to be going into her second semester on Harbinger as the Mobile Media Photo Editor. Along with Harbinger, she enjoys traveling, trips to coffee shops, volunteering, and jamming out to music with her friends. »

Taylor Keal

Taylor Keal
Beginning her third year on the Harbinger staff as a photo mentor, Taylor Keal is excited to get back in the swing of shooting clubs, games, classes, and other east events. Taylor enjoys photography so much that she even started carrying around a small yellow digital camera with her wherever she goes to capture the best moments. When she’s not behind the camera, she is at her studio, Starstruck, dancing. In between dancing and photoing you can find Taylor participating in her other activities which include student store, DECA, SHARE, LINK crew and NHS. Outside of activities, Taylor enjoys hanging out with friends, taking naps, and going to McDonalds. »

Austin Housley

Austin Housley
Austin Housley is a sophomore and is starting the year off with his first year on staff! He is involved in choir and theatre during the school day. When he’s not at school, he likes to watch Netflix, hang with friends, and spend time with his family. »

Ty Browning

Ty Browning
Ty Browning is a junior at Shawnee Mission East and is a photographer. This will be his third year on staff. He enjoys rock climbing and loves disc golf as well as playing tennis for East. He's excited to continue his sister's legacy on the harbinger and can't wait to improve his photography skills. »
