Gallery: Girls JV Tennis Dual vs. Blue Valley High

With one injury on the court and in 90-degree heat, the girls JV tennis team persevered and defeated Blue Valley High School 12-0 in a dual on Monday, Sept. 29 at Harmon Park. Each player participated in two matches: one doubles and one singles match. To start the dual, assistant coach Brian Miller assigned partners and courts for the doubles matches. All four of the doubles matches ended with a score of 8-2 after a span of one hour. Going into the singles matches, with only six courts available, two players had to wait to play. During the 30-15 point of the eighth game of sophomore Maggie Roger’s singles match, she fell and tripped over her ankle. Rogers finished her match after two more points, resulting in an 8-1 win over her Blue Valley opponent. She then went to visit Athletic Trainer Dakota Orlando who advised her to be careful on the ankle for the next few days. Another highlight from the singles matches was sophomore Sydney Feldman, who won her match 8-7 in a tiebreak. Finally, after two hours of matches, junior Avni Bansal defeated her opponent 8-0 to conclude the event.

The girls JV tennis team had its next match against Bishop Miege at 3:30 p.m. today at Harmon Park.
