The girls’ JV basketball team went into their second overtime this season against Olathe North. SM East was down 36-34, at the end of the fourth quarter. At the end of the first quarter, SM East led Olathe North 10-8, with sophomore Elizabeth Beltrame scoring seven out of the ten points. The Lancers led 18-16 again at the end of the third quarter, 27-23. Sophomore Audrey Rose made a two-point shot at the end of the game to tie it 36-36. In overtime, sophomore Elizabeth Beltrame and freshman Tulie Zahner both scored to give SM East the lead 40-36.
The Lancers will play their next game against Olathe East on Feb. 10 at SM East High School at 4 p.m.
