Wednesday, Sep. 22 Shawnee Mission East Girls gymnastics competed at the district meet at Shawnee Mission South. Junior Caroline Gorman took first at the meet for all-around. “I was genuinely shocked that I won but I feel excited to see what happens next with the all-around meet and state coming up,” says Gorman. According to Gorman, they have a very close team dynamic. She says to her team “I would just like to add that I love my team so much and they are so supportive and we have a great team dynamic and we get along very well. They are doing an amazing job at transitioning into high school gymnastics and I can’t wait to see them grow and develop through their future years.” Shawnee Mission East took second place overall. The next gymnastics meet will be Wednesday, Sep. 29. at Millcreek Center.
