Gallery: Girls Freshman Basketball Falls To SM Northwest 33-37

The SM East Freshman Girls Basketball team played their first game of the season against Shawnee Mission Northwest on Dec. 4. The game started off with Northwest winning the tip-off and immediately scoring. The girls fell short at the end of the first quarter with a score of 5-8, and by half they trailed 12-18. SM Northwest went on a scoring run and scored 13 points while SM East only scored seven. The Lancers came back in the fourth quarter by scoring 10 points but it was not enough to defeat the Cougars, and a final score was 33-37.

The Lancers will host their next game at SM East against St. Theresa's Academy on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 7 P.M.
