Gallery: Girls Freshman Basketball defeats Olathe East 33-24

The Lancers started out strong in the first quarter in their game against Olathe East by scoring six points compared to the three points scored by Olathe East. The Lancers almost tripled their lead after the first quarter, scoring 14 points in the second quarter, while also not allowing Olathe East to score. The leading scorer was freshman Annie Sandstrom scoring 11 points for the whole team and followed closely behind was freshman Mady Hutsell scoring eight points. After the first half, the Lancers were up 20-3 and although they slowed in the second half, they were able to maintain their lead resulting in a win for the Lancers. The girls freshman basketball team now has an overall record of 6-11.

The freshman girls basketball team’s next game is on Monday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. vs De Soto High School at SM East.

Entering her second year on the Harbinger staff, sophomore Molly Scott is thrilled to be a Photo Mentor this year. When Molly isn’t taking photos or gallery checking for other photographers, you can find her at Chipotle every day after school, or sleeping any chance she gets. Molly loves chatting with her friends and being involved with many sports like soccer. At the end of the night you may even spot her crying about unfinished homework that is due the next day. »
