Gallery: Freshman Girls Basketball Defeats Blue Valley North 27-22

The SM East girls freshman basketball team defeated Blue Valley North 27-22 on Thursday, Jan. 22. Blue Valley North scored the first two points of the game after a fast-break layup and ended the first quarter leading 11-6. Freshman Cally Lynn gave the Lancers a strong start, scoring five out of the six points in the first quarter. Lynn and freshman Delaney Ecton led the team in points with a total of seven each. Entering halftime, the Lancers shortened the lead down to one point, going into halftime with a score of 15-14. In the third quarter, the Lancers came back to tie the game with a score of 19-19. The score remained going back and forth for the entirety of the fourth quarter until the Lancers went on a six point scoring run in the last minute of the game, resulting in a 27-22 win for the Lancers.
