Gallery: Freshman A Boys Basketball Defeats De Soto 48-44

Adding a win to their record making it 7-2, the Lancers defeated the De Soto Wildcats on Jan. 29 at home. The Lancers took the lead in the beginning of the first quarter and maintained it for the majority of the first half, but ended slightly behind with the score being 24-21. However, the Wildcats never let the Lancers get the lead by more than five points. After halftime, the Lancers maintained their lead but the Wildcats kept the score close. By the end of the fourth quarter, the Wildcats were only four points behind the Lancers. The team was instructed by Coach Kevin Thompson to not score and to instead run out the clock in the last three minutes of the game for the win.

The Lancers will play their next game against Olathe East at Olathe East High School on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m..
