Shawnee Mission East’s literary magazine, the Freelancer, recently had a meeting to determine the theme for this year’s edition of the magazine. Club members spent the time before the meeting writing haikus about yogurt, drawing portraits of senior Alex White, and waiting for pizza. Once the pizza arrived and the meeting officially began, the Freelancer staff voted on themes ranging from times of day to taste buds before eventually deciding on language of flowers.
