Gallery: Election Day at School

Students and staff await the 2024 presidential election results at school on Tuesday, Nov. 5. AP and regular government teacher Jacob Penner decorated his classroom and showed projected 2024 electoral votes from 270toWin.com during seminar to celebrate Election Day.

“It’s important to show that the election is not a hard or scary thing to do. It’s really easy to vote,” Penner said. “Increasing participation within a democratic system is never a bad thing. And so me talking about it in almost every class, just helps bring awareness to that and tries to help bring up voter turnout, because we want everyone to participate.”

Penner has stayed unbiased while talking about the election to his classes.

“We have a question right now. Who do we want to represent us? That’s the question here,” Penner said.
