Gallery: Chinese Cabaret

The Chinese Cabaret was a celebration of the Chinese culture, which took place on Sat., March 25. The festivity included: homemade herbal tea, native food, decorations sold at separate booths, acupuncture, dance performances, and a replication of a traditional Chinese wedding. At the end of the event, all students from Chinese I, II, III and IV sang a traditional song for the audience. The cabaret happens every other year, and it's a chance for students taking Chinese to learn more about the culture of the language they are learning to speak and participate in traditional demonstrations. Many origin schools, Prairie Village residents, parents, and Shawnee Mission East students came to see and perform in the Cabaret
