Gallery: Boys Varsity Swim and Dive Sunflower League Championship

After spending multiple days at the SM Aquatic Center, the boys varsity swim and dive team took 1st place at the Sunflower League Championship with 372 points. Diving prelims were on Thursday, Feb 2. and swimming prelims were on Friday, Feb 3. Both swim and dive finals were the morning of Saturday, Feb 4. and medals were given to the top 8 finalists. All four of the divers who competed in this meet made the podium. Junior Peter Stechschulte placed 3rd, junior Braydon Roberts placed 4th, freshman Kyle Becker placed 6th and junior Henry Frommelt placed 8th. Two swimmers placed first overall in the event they swam. Sophomore Jack McClelland placed 1st in the 500 freestyle and junior Colin Crosby placed 1st in the 100 butterfly.

For the swimmers and divers who have not yet qualified for state, the final chance meet will be on Thursday, Feb. 9. at 3:30 p.m. at the SM Aquatic Center.

State will be on Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb 18. also at the SM Aquatic Center at 9:00 a.m. on both days.

When he isn’t in the J room editing a video or trying to find some tripod piece, Mason is running as a varsity track and cross country runner and is in five AP classes. When things finally slow down, Mason likes to spend his free time with his friends or just hang out at home. »
