Gallery: Boys Varsity Soccer Defeats Washburn Rural 3-0

The boys varsity soccer team took on the Washburn Rural Junior Blues in the KSHSAA boys soccer state semi-final on Nov. 6. The Lancers started the match off defending when the Junior Blues won the kickoff and took on the Lancers' goal. The Lancers caught a break after four minutes of defending and started a counter attack. Senior Ben Perkins dribbled half of the field and beat five defenders on his way to goal. Senior Ben Perkins then put the Lancers on the board, 1-0. No other goals were scored in the first half. The Lancers kicked off the second half with senior Lars Alsin scoring a second goal for the Lancers assisted by senior Ben Perkins. With only two minutes left in the game, senior Lars Alsin scored the third and final goal of the night with an assist from senior George Hartman.

The boys varsity soccer team advances to the state championship for the first time in school history. The Lancers will play the undefeated Dodge City Demons on Nov. 9 at 4:30 p.m. at the Scheels Stryker Complex in Wichita, KS.

Going into her second year on staff as an assistant photo editor, junior Ava Towner is so excited for this school year. Outside of Harbinger, Ava is involved in tennis and SHARE at East. When Ava is not taking pictures, you can find her hanging out with friends, nannying, walking her dogs, cramming for an AP class, or shopping. »

Entering her second year on Staff as Photo Mentor, junior Sylvie DeGalan is so excited to grow this year as a photographer! When Sylvie is not trying new editing techniques, you can find her playing tennis, swimming at East, or volunteering for SHARE. Sylvie is also a part of the Student Council as a Junior Class representative. In her spare time, she enjoys being with friends and family. »

When she’s not editing in Photoshop in the backroom, Molly is hanging out with friends, cleaning her room, or going for a walk around Prairie Village listening to Zach Bryan or Megan Moroney. »
