Gallery: Boys Varsity Soccer Defeats Gardner-Edgerton 2-1 

In their first playoff game the boys varsity soccer team defeated the Gardner Edgerton Trailblazers 2-1 to advance to the next round of the playoffs. Senior Parker scored the first goal of the game for the Lancers within the first five minutes of the first half. A few minutes later the Lancers scored again. This time, the goal came from senior Stephen Hlobik on an assist from Mahurin. The Lancers didn’t score for the rest of the game, but were able to hold their two goal lead until late in the game. With under three minutes left in the game, the Trailblazers were able to get their first goal, but several clearing kicks by the Lancers held their lead, giving them a 2-1 win. 

The Lancers played again on Thurs, Oct. 30 and defeated Blue Valley Northwest 5-1 and will play in the state quarterfinals against Olathe East at Olathe District Activity Center on Mon, Nov. 3 at 6:00 p.m.
