On Saturday Nov. 12, the boys varsity soccer team took on their final match of the season against the 20-0-0 Dodge City Demons. The Lancer came into their first ever state title match on a 15-game winning streak and an undefeated postseason stretch, conceding zero goals in the last six games. The Lancers played the first half of the game with several shots on goal from outside the box and a one versus one save by senior Lukas Lowry. With seven minutes left in the first half, senior Brady Neuman found an assist from senior Ben Perkins to score the Lancers only goal of the night. After keeping pressure on an injured Dodge City goalkeeper and conceding zero goals, the Lancers won their first state title in school history.
The Lancers finished their season 19-1-1 with their one loss to Rockhurst High School and one tie to SM West. The Lancers also had two school records broken this season, with senior George Hartman scoring 24 goals and the team as a whole notching 15 shutout games. They also finished the season as Sunflower League Champions, Regional Champions, and State Champions.

Junior Will Griffith is starting his third year as a photographer on staff as an assistant photo editor. When he's not scrambling to edit photos or check galleries, he is most likely on the soccer field in goal or the football field kicking and punting. Will loves spending his Saturday mornings watching premier league games and then watching college football the rest of the day. Will is excited to start the new challenge of an assistant photo editor and ready for the new role. »
