The Lancers faced a tough loss against Lawrence Free State on Friday, February 2. East took the lead the majority of the game, and they were up 23-18 at the half. During halftime, the 2018 Sweetheart Candidates were introduced to the crowd, and the Queen and court were announced. Senior Madeline Hlobik won 2nd Attendant, senior Caroline Blubaugh won 1st Attendant, and senior Riley McCullough was crowned Queen. The game was very close, but the Lancers lost their momentum during the third quarter, resulting in a final score of 51-53.
