Gallery: Boys Varsity Basketball Falls to St. Joesph Benton 58-39

The Lancers took on the St. Joseph Benton Cardinals, last year’s Missouri state runner-up, in their first game of the season, on Dec. 5. The theme for the game was blue out. At the end of the first quarter the Lancers trailed the Cardinals 17-10. At half-time the Lancers were still down 27-20. The second half started with senior Pearson Konold scoring five points, but the Lancers were still down 43-28. The Lancers would score 11 points in the fourth quarter to go up to 39 points, but that would fail to surpass the Cardinals 58 points.

The Lancers will play their next game against Raytown South High School on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Shawnee Mission East High School in the main gym at 8 p.m.
