Gallery: Boys Varsity Basketball Falls to SM South 60-46

Following a close varsity girls game, the boys varsity basketball team lost 60-46 against east rival team, SM South last Friday, Jan. 14. The bleachers were packed with parents and students, dressed in the SEC Game Day theme decided by pep club. The first quarter remained close in score, but the Lancers began the second quarter behind 13-7. At the half, the Lancers were down 27-10. Fighting hard, the team could not break South’s lead in the second half. With only a few minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Lancers were down 60-39. Pushing until the final seconds, the Lancers lost to the Raiders 60-46.

Starting on Jan. 20, the boys varsity basketball team plays in a tournament at Valley Center High School against multiple schools.

Riley Scott

Entering her third and final year on staff, senior Riley Scott could not be more thrilled to be one of the Head Photographer Editors. You can often times find Riley cheering on the sidelines of football games, diving at KU or nannying after school. Riley is also involved with Link Crew and NHS. In her free time she loves driving around listening to Taylor Swift, rewatching Gossip Girl or hanging around the pool with her friends. »

Kate Beaulieu

Senior Kate Beaulieu is going into her third and final year on Harbinger as a Staff Photographer. When Kate isn’t taking sports photos, specifically lacrosse ones, she can be found babysitting, rewatching 10 Things I Hate About You, and hanging out with friends. During school hours, Kate is taking AP classes, playing tennis, being social media coordinator for the Freelancer, being a chair for Unified Teams, and playing varsity lacrosse. »

Mason Sajna

As a fourth year harbinger staffer, senior Mason Sajna is excited to be a leader on staff this year as a Video Editor, Photo Mentor and Equipment Manager. When he isn’t in the J room editing a video or trying to find some tripod piece, Mason is running as a varsity track and cross country runner and is in five AP classes. When things finally slow down, Mason likes to spend his free time with his friends or just hang out at home. »

Riley Eck

Riley Eck
Senior Riley Eck is eager to start her second year on staff as a photo mentor. When she is not taking photos or writing captions, you may find her in the SHARE room talking about upcoming volunteer events, in the Student Store trying to get people to do their jobs or working on endless amounts of homework. In the little free time Riley has, the chances are she is buying candles, teaching her dog new tricks in German or signing herself up for new, time consuming, activities. »

Claire Goettsch

Claire Goettsch
Going into her second semester on Harbinger staff as a photo mentor, junior Claire Goettsch is excited to gain new photo experiences and watch herself improve throughout the year. When she’s not behind the camera or editing photos, Claire juggles many different sports and AP and IB classes. At any free time Claire can get during the week, you can catch her watching her favorite Netflix shows with her dogs and eating goldfish, especially the flavor blasted kind. »
