Gallery: Boys Varsity Basketball falls to SM Northwest 57-55

Despite almost overcoming the lead SM Northwest possessed going into the fourth quarter, the Lancers fell short and were defeated by SM Northwest 55-53. Throughout the majority of the game, the Lancers trailed SM Northwest by just a few points. Junior Abdoulaye Kante was one of the Lancer’s highest scoring players this game with 14 total points. He believes that his key to success is support; “I play very well when I see friends and people I know come support me.” With two minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Lancers were down 55-48. SM Northwest made another layup and the Lancers were down 9 points. Shortly after, the Lancers were able to put up 5 points making the score 57-53 with 12 seconds left on the clock. The Lancers were fouled allowing them to score another 2 points. The outcome of the game was down to the final play, and the Lancers ended up falling just 2 points short of SM Northwest.

Ryan Dehan

Going into his second and final year on the Harbinger, senior Ryan Dehan is coming into the new year with new responsibilities on the staff. Now a Photo Mentor, Staff Photographer and Video Producer, Ryan will be able to work on videos with the video crew, as well as shoot big sports games, pep assemblies and more. When Ryan isn’t in the back room of the J room, he is playing football, working out, hanging out with friends or playing soccer. On top of Harbinger, Ryan is a SHARE Exec, Link Crew Leader and he plays varsity football and runs track. »

Claire Goettsch

Claire Goettsch
Going into her second semester on Harbinger staff as a photo mentor, junior Claire Goettsch is excited to gain new photo experiences and watch herself improve throughout the year. When she’s not behind the camera or editing photos, Claire juggles many different sports and AP and IB classes. At any free time Claire can get during the week, you can catch her watching her favorite Netflix shows with her dogs and eating goldfish, especially the flavor blasted kind. »

Senior Riley Eck is eager to start her second year on staff as a photo mentor. When she is not taking photos or writing captions, you may find her in the SHARE room talking about upcoming volunteer events, in the Student Store trying to get people to do their jobs or working on endless amounts of homework. In the little free time Riley has, the chances are she is buying candles, teaching her dog new tricks in German or signing herself up for new, time consuming, activities. »

Mason Sajna

Mason Sajna
As a fourth year harbinger staffer, senior Mason Sajna is excited to be a leader on staff this year as a Video Editor, Photo Mentor and Equipment Manager. When he isn’t in the J room editing a video or trying to find some tripod piece, Mason is running as a varsity track and cross country runner and is in five AP classes. When things finally slow down, Mason likes to spend his free time with his friends or just hang out at home. »
