The Lancers led the first quarter of the game 13-11 before falling behind 31-28 at the end of the half. During halftime, the varsity Lancer Dancers debuted their hip-hop routine that they will perform this year at nationals. Varsity cheer also performed their nationals routine that won them sixth place. The Lancers continued to trail the Hawklets at the end of the third quarter, 51-41. The Lancers fell to Rockhurst 66-54. Before the fourth quarter, the winner of the Chick-Fil-A Charity Contest, hosted by Chick-Fil-A’s Ward Parkway location, was announced. The Lancers won the contest and over $3000 will be donated to help pay for Coach Gordon’s daughter’s surgery. The team’s record now sits at 9-3.
