Gallery: Boys Varsity Basketball Falls to Mill Valley 61-50

The Lancers won the tip off against the Mill Valley Jaguars, with senior Quentin Ochs attempting to score in the first ten seconds of the game. On Feb. 13 the Lancers played and were defeated by the Jaguars 61-50. Ochs did not score after the tip off, but the Lancers still maintained overall possession of the ball during the first quarter of the game. Senior Vince Kopp scored the first points of the game, with a three pointer. At the end of the first quarter the Lancers were down 11-9. The Lancers continued to trail behind the Jaguars, ending the second quarter with a score of 27-16. At half-time Mill Valley’s winter formal court king and queen were announced. In the third quarter sophomore Cannon Zubeck was subbed in, and played for most of the quarter. At the end of the third quarter Jaguars still led the Lancers 44-34. The Lancers scored 16 points in the fourth quarter, but ultimately were defeated 61-50 by the Mill Valley Jaguars. After this game the Lancers record is 8-9, with a scoring average of 50 points a game.

The next boys varsity basketball game will take place at Shawnee Mission East High School against Lawrence Free-State at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
