Gallery: Boys Varsity Basketball Defeats SM West 62-58

The boys varsity basketball team played their third to last game this season against SM West on Friday, Feb. 20. The first basket was a layup scored by junior Brooks Dillion. SM East led the first quarter, ending it with a leading score of 23-8. In the second quarter the lancers kept their lead, ending it with a score of 40-18. In the third quarter, SM West started to gain momentum and got the score to 38-54. With 4:30 left in the fourth quarter SM West started to catch up yet the Lancers still lead 56-51. For the next 2 minutes both teams didn't score, until SM West turned over the ball and scored a two point shot making the score 56-53. At 2:42 SM West scores, making it a one point game at 56-55. The two teams were tied until SM East broke off and scored, ending the game 62-58.

The Lancers will play their next game against Olathe West at Olathe West on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 P.M.
