Boys soccer tryouts took place Aug. 19 to Aug. 23. On the first day of tryouts athletes showed their juggling skills, five-ten-five yard shuttles, dribbling drills, 40-yard dashes and scrimmaging. On the second day, the boys performed a mile and a half fitness test across the field and then scrimmaged for the remainder of the practice. The third day was scrimmaging seven on seven and nine on nine. The fourth day was run without head coach, Jamie Kelly while he was dropping his daughter off at college. Kelly later added a fifth day of tryouts to finalize teams. The teams were announced on the SME soccer Twitter account at 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 23. Teams were divided into 23 to 20 player teams of blue, black, JV and varsity.
