The 7-1 Lancers JV boys basketball team took on the Rockhurst Hawklets at Rockhurst High School on Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m.. Because the game was in Missouri there were no 35-second shot clocks, contrasting with the new standard for this year at all Kansas high schools. The Lancers ended the first quarter even with the Hawklets with a score of 15-15 with 11 of the Lancers points coming from junior Paxton Ochs. The Lancers went on to score another 10 points in the second quarter which was not enough to keep up with the Hawklets who scored 12 leaving the score at half at 27-25. The Lancers continued to trail in the third quarter with Paxton Ochs leading the team in scoring with 11 points. However, the Lancers were still behind with a score of 43-38 at the end of the third quarter. The Lancers were kept behind the whole fourth quarter and ultimately fell to the Hawklets 60-52.

The Lancers next game is at home on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. against the Gardner Edgerton Trailblazers in the SME Aux gym.
