The boys freshman basketball team defeated SM Northwest at SM East on Thursday, Jan. 11. The Lancers led the whole game, resulting in the final score of 57-32. Finishing the first quarter, the team led 12-6, and by half, 29-15. At halftime, the freshman cheer squad performed a routine for family, friends and students in the stands. With one minute left in the third quarter, freshman Tommy Trucksess drove the ball down the court to shoot a lay-up, ending the third quarter 43-25. The Lancers continued their lead through the final quarter, ending the game 57-32.
The next boys freshman basketball game is Monday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. against SM South in the SM East gym.

“I feel like I’ve picked up on a lot of what she does [over the years],” Lilah said. “And I would say we’re pretty similar [now]. The other day, my mom sent us a photo that was taken of both of us, and we’re doing the same head tilt, same smile, same everything.”
This year, their normal-sister bickering, movie nights, before-school car rides, competitive volleyball games near their childhood neighborhood Lake of the Forest and trips to the dog park will be coming to an end. The pair will be going to different places across the world.
