With 18 Different high schools participating in the meet at the Baldwin XC course, the SME Cross Country team placed third overall on Saturday, September 17th. The runners had to board buses at 6:30 a.m. in the front parking lot of East to get to the meet. The temperature topped at 91 degrees, with the sun blazing the whole day. The top finishers on the East team for each race were senior Kloe Kowalik, who placed 21st in the girls C team 4K, sophomore Adelaide Ecton, who placed 14th in the girls JV 5K, junior Lida Padgett, who placed second in the girls varsity 5K, senior Graham Squires, who placed 34th in the boys C team race, sophomore Liam Titus, who placed 33rd in the JV boys 5K, and senior Blair Ptacek, who placed second in the boys varsity 5K.

Working on his third year on Harbinger staff, senior Alex Sajna is thrilled to lead the video team as a Video Editor and take pictures as a Photographer. Besides Harbinger, Alex runs cross country and track, takes AP classes and works part time. When he’s not in the J-room, you can find Alex working on his car, making up a cross country practice late at night, or hanging out with family and friends. »
