After months of reviewing entries and designing pages, the FreeLancer is available for sale. The FreeLancer is East’s literary magazine which includes items such as photos, artwork, poems and short stories. This year, the FreeLancer is only $4.
The theme of this year’s FreeLancer, Playground, was decided by seniors and editors Anna Jones and Meghan Mohn. The literary magazine is split into different sections that relate to playgrounds.
“One of our staff members thought of it at a meeting and then after some discussion we decided that it was a theme that split into different categories well,” Jones said. “A lot of our pieces could be easily related to it.”
The editors for next year’s magazine will be announced at the FreeLancer staff banquet later in May.
“It’s so great to have it all printed, but I’m a little sad that this means the FreeLancer is drawing to a close for me,” Jones said. “Both Meghan and I are so proud of it and we think it looks great.”
