Final Memories: Mission Valley

Two years ago, the Shawnee Mission School District cut Mission Valley Middle School when the district imposed cuts and boundary redrawing. In all, Shawnee Mission closed a total of four schools. The future of the Mission Valley site has been up in the air for some time now. With fighting from both developers as well as citizens the future has just recently become more clear. The city of Prairie Village has sided with the developer and it looks as if the Mission Chateau Project will occur. The Mission Chateau is a senior living and single family housing that will be built on the site of the existing school.
