Last night at approximately 10:30 p.m., Lenexa Police broke up a party and 27 individuals, some East students, were charged with Minor in Possessions (MIPs).
“Police found a large number of minors at this party and issued 27 MIPs,” Public Information Officer for the Lenexa Police Department Dan Friesen said. “There were likely more than 27 at this party, and since most were under the age of 18 they will be processed through the Johnson County Juvenile Court.”
Any East students involved will also be turned into the school administration and face consequences set by the Shawnee Mission School District.
“Students in our possession will be subject to the policy and consequences,” Assistant Principal Jeremy Higgins said. “They’ll be held accountable for their actions and face punishment, in accordance with the rules.”
