Gallery: Earth Fair Raises Environmental Awareness

Residents of greater Prairie Village walked out of the Shawnee Mission East gym with more environmental knowledge on Saturday.

The 11th annual Prairie Village Earth Fair saw thousands of visitors, young and old alike. Attractions included Cultivate Kansas City, Environmental Club booths and interactive presentations, animals and vendors.

"There was a good turnout, the fashion show was exciting and there was a good variety of people in attendance," Environmental Club secretary Ada Throckmorton said. "We had our waterbottle igloo, recycled crafts [newspaper hats] and a competition to construct bridges out of recycled materials."
