The Chinese classes will host a Chinese Cabaret this Saturday, April 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. as a fundraiser for the program and a cultural experience. Admission is free, but there will be a silent auction and fundraising sales for students and families who wish to donate to the program.
The Cabaret will include calligraphy, face painting, fortune telling and arts and crafts activities. There will also be a display about Chinese culture and Chinese food will be available for purchase. Students from the Chinese classes will also be performing songs, dances and kung fu moves that they have been rehearsing in class, and they will end the Cabaret with a traditional costume fashion show.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the turnout,” senior Neely Atha said. “Normally they have it at South and we’re doing it for the first time at East and that’s really exciting.”
