Chiefs Victory Parade: What To Know Before The Festivities

By

Within minutes of the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Super bowl, final details for the celebratory parade were set. The parade is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. on 6th street and make its way down Grand Blvd. ending at Union Station where a victory rally will begin at 1:30 p.m.

School has been canceled for the day of the parade in order for everyone to be given the opportunity to participate in the celebration. Junior Dom Zanone plans on beating the crowds by going early.

“I am going to probably go around 9 with some friends, and my mom is probably going to take my friends and I there instead of ubering because it’s going to be expensive,” Zanone said.

Zanone is dedicating his day off to watch the Chiefs bring in their first Lombardi Trophy in 50 years.

However, a winter storm is predicted to bring in 1 to 3 inches of snow prior to the parade, with below freezing temperatures throughout the day according to Fox4 News.

The team arrived back in Kansas City with the Lombardi trophy on Monday giving them enough time to recover before the festivities.

According to the Kansas City Star, somewhere between 500,000 and 800,000 people attended the Royals’ World Series parade in 2015 and an even bigger outcome of 1 million people is expected for the Chiefs according to Kake.com. Because of this, KSHB-TV 41 will be broadcasting the parade for those who would prefer to skip the traffic and the cold and watch it in the comfort of their home.
