A group of juniors and seniors from East helped organize a second vigil on April 11 for Rockhurst freshman Harrison Rupp, who tragically took his own life last year.
Rupp’s mother contacted senior Marti Fromm as well as juniors Reilly Moreland and Greta Horton, along with some of his other friends from STA, Rockhurst and Pembroke who all helped to plan and organize it, according to Moreland.
“It went really well,” Moreland said. “Several hundred people showed up to celebrate [Rupp’s] life. Harrison’s mom spoke and so did his old hockey coach.”
The remembrance was held in the center of Loose Park at 7:30 pm. In addition to the speeches the attendees were asked to bring candles and lighters to hold during the vigil.
