Record Breaking: The boys’ varsity bowling team broke school record

The East boys’ varsity bowling team beat the school record with a 2,658 team score at their meet on Jan. 26 against Blue Valley Northwest and Blue Valley.

The last record was set six years ago at a meet with a score of 2,553.

In each of the three games bowled at a meet, the top four of six bowlers are added to the team score. Those 12 scores are then combined for the school’s total with this record being 2,658 points.

“It’s pretty amazing to see,” Bowling coach Fred Elliott said. “Especially since it’s even 100 points over the last record.”

The girls team also placed second with only four bowlers at this meet. Additionally, senior Wally Workman scored a 692 series, placing first on varsity, and junior Mason Craven bowled a 684 for first on JV.
