Breaking News: Sweetheart Court candidates announced

Student Council members woke up the Sweetheart Court candidates on Monday morning in their bedrooms with pots, pans and loud music. The candidates are seniors Connor Alldredge, Lars Alsin, Brennen Barnes, Lucas Bartalos, Sophia Beedle, Ellen Bowser, Maggie Condon, Cathleen Gallagher, Hartley Graham, Ella Hargens and Luke LaHue. 

“Most people are really surprised,” said STUCO executive board secretary and junior Claire Polanco. “They just get out of bed, and they’ll just kind of stare at you, but then a lot of people get really excited.”  

Seniors voted for candidates through a Google Form emailed to every senior. The whole student body will vote online for Sweetheart Court starting Feb. 11, and the top four candidates will be announced as royalty at the sweetheart varsity basketball game during halftime.
