On Mar. 7 and 8, students voted for their 2023-24 school year Student Council Executive Board members. The results were posted on the SME STUCO Instagram account on Mar. 9.
Executive Board Treasurer: Ira Finkelston
Executive Board Secretary: Nora Hill
Executive Board Vice President: Sam Streiler
Executive Board President: Jack Kessler
Despite most candidates running unopposed in the election, there was competition for the position of Exec. Board Secretary between juniors Nora Hill and Emma Krause. Hill ultimately won and voiced her plans for the upcoming school year.
“[I want to] expand Student Council to social media more than just announcements,” Hill said. “I want to get feedback and send out stories and really hear from the actual students at East because that’s our job as a student body is to hear from students.”
She has nothing but praise for her fellow Board members.
“The group of executives right now have all been on Student Council for a number of years and with most of them already being on the Executive Board last year I think [it’s an advantage],” Hill said.
