Breaking News: School on Feb. 15 is canceled for Kansas City Chief’s Super Bowl Victory Parade

SMSD classes have been canceled for Feb. 15 as the Kansas City Chief’s Super Bowl Victory Parade, according to a message sent out to students and families Sunday night.

Schedule changes have not been announced yet. This week’s schedule has already been adjusted due to the snow day on Feb. 9.

If the parade is moved to Feb. 16 due to inclement weather, the decision will be reevaluated. For now, Feb. 15 will be a Plan A day, where all district facilities are closed and no remote learning is in place.

The parade will start at noon and the rally at Union Station will begin at 1:45 p.m.
