Breaking News: Homecoming Court Winners Announced

The 24 Homecoming Court nominees were announced at halftime of East’s homecoming game against SM North on Friday Sept. 23. The royal court was composed of the four nominees with the most votes after student voting beforehand. This was the first year that a King and Queen weren’t selected.

Royal Court:
Afa’anwi Akwanka’a
Kate Cronenwett
Macy Crosser
Fritz Sullivan

Reaction from Royalty:

“It felt surreal,” Afa said. “It was weird because they named the people in alphabetical order. So I knew if I wasn’t called First I wasn’t going to not win. And when they called my name [I heard people] chanting as I was walking off, and it gave me chills.”
Afa’anwi Nforneh Akwanka’a

“It was really surreal, I would never expect that I would be up there with [the other winners] especially because everyone else was so deserving of the crown. But it was really fun.”
Macy Crosser
