The Girls Varsity tennis team placed second overall in the 6A State Tournament at Harmon Park on Oct. 18 and 19.
Twelve players competed in singles and 12 teams competed in doubles. Senior Ishya Bhavsar placed third in singles, senior Breanna Quigley and sophomore Nell Stechschulte placed fourth in doubles while junior Catherine Beltrame and freshman Molly McDermed placed fifth in doubles.
Matchplay started on Oct. 18, taking place from 10 a.m to 8 p.m, and continued on Oct.19 from 9 a.m to 4 p.m.
“I’m glad we worked hard and practiced to get second place,” Stechschulte said. “I’m happy I was able to play and be supported by my coaches. Playing with the team was actually such a great experience and I loved getting to know everyone better during the season.”
