The Lancers have continued their success, staying undefeated at 6-0. Last Thursday, the Lancers took on Shawnee Mission North. After a slow start, the boys found themselves down 2-0 at halftime. Although the Lancers had good possession, North dominated physically. However, the second half began with a quick goal from junior Tyler Rathbun, turning all the momentum their way. The Lancers continued to roll, easily getting four more on North and finding win at 5-2. Junior Austin Wilcox added to this total with two goals, junior Bryce McClanahan had one, and Rathbun finished with two.
Last night the Lancers continued their undefeated season, knocking off Lawrence Freestate 4-0. Keepers junior Garrett Raibble and junior G.J. Melia made some key saves in both halves to keep the clean sheet. Once again, the Lancers had no trouble scoring.
Coming off this solid win, the Lancers will find themselves without Rathbun for tomorrow night’s game against Lawrence High due to a deep bone bruise occurring last night in the second half. However, the boys still have plenty of talent around the field to find the back of the net. This will be a big test for the young team, as they will be playing a hot Lawrence team on the road. It may be a key game in defense of the Lancers’ 2010 League Title
