Upcoming Competitions
The team's remaining games are all league games. Their next three games will be hosted at SM East. They will take on Olathe North on Friday, Feb. 6, in the main gym. The following week, on Tuesday, Feb. 10, they are hosting Olathe East. Lawrence Free State will arrive to play on Feb. 17.
Strengths
The boys are very well bonded and have been connecting well. “We’ve got a lot of tough kids, which is a big strength for us right now,” Wiesner said. “We’re really coming together as a team. Especially at the Rock game, we played [and] we did as good as we possibly could’ve asked for.”
Weaknesses
Weaknesses for the team include needing to be more offensive consistently. Perimeter shooting has been a little up-and-down in games, but it’s a skill the team is definitely capable of doing well, according to assistant varsity coach Ryan Oettmeier.
Injuries
A notable recovering injury is senior Vince Kopp. Kopp is almost fully recovered from a rolled ankle from the game against Northwest. Sophomore Cannon Zubeck dinged his shoulder at the game against Rockhurst on Jan. 30, but Wiesner said it’s not a cause for concern.
Lineup
The starting lineup has been consistent over the past few weeks, with the exception of illnesses. The lineup includes seniors Stephen Hlobik, Pearson Konold, Paxton Ochs, Quentin Ochs and junior Brooks Dillon.
