Boys Basketball Updates

CURRENT PLACEMENT

The team is currently in fourth place in 6A Kansas behind the SM South, Olathe North and Mill Valley high schools. The team currently has a record of 10-13.

TOP PERFORMER(S)

Senior, power forward Stephen Hlobik is the current leading scorer on the varsity boys basketball team. He is averaging 16 points per game. Four to five other players are averaging 7-10 points per game.

UPCOMING COMPETITIONS

The varsity boys team will play against SM South at the SM South Gym on Feb. 27 at 7 pm

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

According to Head Coach Shawn Hair, the Lancers have been very determined and passionate. Hair says, “The team’s ultra competitive, they play with great energy, great passion.” The team’s greatest weakness at the moment is its shooting accuracy and consistency.

INJURIES

According to Hair, many of the players are battling minor injuries such as sophomore Cannon Zubeck who has been dealing with shoulder problems.

LINE UP CHANGES

There have been no recent lineup or position changes made.

LATEST NEWS

In the last few weeks, the Lancers have played numerous of the highest ranking teams including Rockhurst, the No. 1 team in 6A Missouri and Mill Valley, the No. 3 team in 6A Kansas. Against Rockhurst, the Lancers lost 51-56 and against Mill Valley the team lost 50-61.
