Blue Star Awards Announced

This year’s fall play, The Drowsey Chaperone, was nominated for 10 Blue Star Awards. On the morning of May 2 Andrew Pierce, a representative from Starlight Theatre, visited East’s auditorium to present the theatre department with three banners listing the awards they were nominated for.
“You guys had a stellar year for sure,” Pierce said to the cast of the play during his presentation.

East’s nominations are as follows:
Outstanding overall production
Outstanding artistic contribution by a student-Maggie Niven
Outstanding actress in a lead role-Lily Kaufman
Outstanding actor in a lead role- Alec and Justin Armer
Outstanding actress in a featured role- Abby Cramer
Outstanding ensemble
Outstanding orchestra
Outstanding hair and makeup design
Rising star scholarship for males- AJ Orth
Rising star scholarship for females- Lily Kaufman

The awards will be announced at a ceremony on May 23. The full cast will perform a number at the ceremony and senior Lily Kaufman will be featured in the lead actress medley.
