Blog: Riley Rants

Everyday before I head off to my seventh hour  class, I also have to take a stop to the boys room (or restroom for you grown ups). I go in there expecting to see white walls with very poorly written, and spelled insults towards a group of people, or “This guy does this”, or the always respectable “She a (Enter title). But this day I get a pleasant  surprise, I enter in through the doors to enter a room of pure color. I am a fan of graffiti. Street art is a fantastic, I think it’s original, it sends messages, and it it can be funny and witty. With all of those elements put together is a pure delight. Having the Graffiti in the bathroom is a smart game plan from the Shawnee Mission East faculty. Getting the graffiti on the wall makes it so no one feels the urge to vandalize with insults and good ol’ fashion swearing. I like the idea. Plus it gives me something to appreciate while I do my business. With all the slander that was going on with the bathroom walls it made it seem like every male had a pen or pencil on them at all times. Yes this school, but c’mon guys. Save the pencils for the classroom.
