Athlete of the Week: Mia Roman

Q: How long have you been playing softball?
A: I’ve been playing since I was six when I started t-ball

Q: How did you get into softball?
A: My dad played baseball for awhile for fun so I just got into it through him.

Q: What position do you play?
A: I play centerfield on my club team and then I’m a pitcher for East.

Q: What is your favorite softball memory?
A: Probably just playing center field. When you’re in center field you get to make all the big catches and plays and save your team.

Q: What is your favorite Ufford moment so far?
A: I remember Easter weekend we had practice and he sent us on an Easter egg hunt. He hid them on the field but they were all in places nobody could find and it took a lot of people at least 20 min. to find them. They all had candy inside and then later on that day we had Chick Fil A.

Q: How long have you been playing on a competitive team?
A: Since 5th grade.

Q: How is it being a freshman on varsity?
A: It’s good. Everyone is really accepting and it’s just fun.
