Actor and comedian Rob Riggle visited East Sept. 17, after being invited to give a presentation to the drama students by Sophomore Chloe Kerwin’s parents, who were high school friends with Riggle. Riggle attended Shawnee Mission South and then the University of Kansas.
Since he was returning to Kansas for a different event, Kerwin’s mom contacted Riggle and asked if he would visit the East theatre department.
“My mom texted him and he came to our school,” Kerwin said. “My parents were friends, when the went to middle school and high school together.”
The drama students were given the opportunity to attend a presentation and question and answer session given by Riggle, who has been in movies such as 21 Jump Street and the Hangover. They also had a chance to get to meet and take pictures with Riggle.
“It was cool to see someone on the big screen, to get to see him in person,” junior Abby Cramer said.
