Q: Tell me about yourself.

A: “I swim and play golf, and I’m involved in French Club. I do a lot of volunteering, mostly through SHARE. I’ve been doing Pack-of-Pals since freshman year. I’ve also volunteered at Deanna Rose. This year I am a chairing two SHARE projects — care packages for the Ronald McDonald House and the Brighton Garden Project.”

Q: Why did you join SHARE?

A: “My older brother and sister both went to East, but they never really got involved in SHARE. I never understood why because it’s just a really cool thing to do. There are so many projects available that you can find something you’re interested in. When I got to East, I decided that this was something that I wanted to be a part of.”

Q: What is your goal as a SHARE executive?

A: “My goal is to increase — as much as possible — the participation that we have in SHARE. I think the best way to do that is to promote SHARE as much as possible, as well as create competitions between different groups.”

Q: Tell me about yourself.

A: “I’m on the football team, and I’m involved with NHS, IB and track.”

Q: Why did you join SHARE?

A: “I feel that, specifically at East, there are a lot of kids with opportunities because they come from wealthier backgrounds, so I feel it’s important to spread that throughout the community, and communities who are less fortunate. I’ve been around these less fortunate communities — I used to live in Hong Kong for three years before middle school — so I have seen poverty to an extreme level. I believe it’s very important to address that.”

Q: What is your goal as a SHARE executive?

A: “I’d love to individualize specific SHARE activities in order to make it so that there is something for everyone. I also want to commercialize it to make it available to everyone. That way everyone has an activity they can do.”

Q: Tell me about yourself.

A: “I’m in the IB diploma program, and I play tennis. I have my own SHARE project that I manage that gathers school supplies at the end of the year for under-privileged kids. I am involved in many clubs, such as Young Democrats, Youth in Government, and I have my own club called Political Round Table.”

Q: Why did you join SHARE?

A: “I already have two Gold Presidential Service awards for SHARE — which is over 100 hours of service each year. I’m involved in many SHARE projects along with my own, so I just really like volunteering.”

Q: What is your goal as a SHARE executive?

A: “I just want to be able to get as many people as possible involved in SHARE, and get more people involved in the higher ranks of SHARE, like getting more East-led SHARE projects.”

Q: Tell me about yourself.

A: “I started Discussion club, and I am involved in NHS, SHARE, Yearbook and Link Crew.”

Q: Why did you join SHARE?

A: “Sophomore year I started up a project with one of my friends. At that point, I didn’t really know a lot about SHARE. Then junior year, I realized I should have been doing a lot more with it my sophomore year, so I tried to do as much as possible. I volunteer about once a week, and it’s definitely a lot of fun. I enjoy doing projects with my friends and meeting new people.”

Q: What is your goal as a SHARE executive?

A: “As a SHARE executive, I want to get more people involved with SHARE. I want people to be more aware of it. As a freshman, I didn’t really know what it was until I started to get involved. I think there should be more resources for the SHARE chairpersons to use.”

Q: Tell me about yourself.

A: “I play soccer and tennis for East, as well as outside of school. I’m involved in SHARE, Link Crew, NHS and I have a book club.”

Q: Why did you join SHARE?

A: “I love helping other people and giving back. I also love leading projects and organizing events. I think it was a perfect way to combine two of those things. I have organized a lot of community service opportunities this year.”

Q: What is your goal as a SHARE executive?

A: “My goal is to get more people involved in SHARE. I think this year it was difficult given the circumstances. As a freshman I didn’t know much about it, so my goal is to get freshman all the way through seniors involved.”

Q: Tell me about yourself.

A: “I play club soccer for KC Athletics, and I coach a little girls soccer team. I’m a part of NHS and SHARE. I’m hoping to be involved with Link Crew again, as I was a part of it last year.”

Q: Why did you join SHARE?

A: “I joined SHARE because in the past couple of years, I’ve been in charge of running the Trolley Run. I really love volunteering. I think it’s a great opportunity for people to get involved. I thought it would be a great idea to become a SHARE executive and become fully involved.”

Q: What is your goal as a SHARE executive?

A: “My goal as a SHARE executive is to make SHARE more appealing. I feel that besides our SHARE Care Fair, no one else gets involved. I’m hoping to spread the word to all people.”

Courtenay Tetrick

Q: Tell me about yourself.

A: “Right now I play JV soccer, and I also do JV volleyball for East. I also do club soccer and volleyball year-round. I’m a part of SHARE, and I am a chair for Unified Teams.”

Q: Why did you join SHARE?

A: “I just feel like [SHARE] one of those things where you can meet new people and it’s also a place for you to find something you are passionate about. I’ve been involved for all three years because my siblings did it, and they raved about SHARE. It looks good on your resume, but it also teaches you that helping out in your community can really benefit everyone.”

Q: What is your goal as a SHARE executive?

A: “One of my goals is to get more people involved, especially freshmen. I was a freshmen connection leader with three other people, and it definitely was a challenge to get freshmen involved. Coming to East, it’s a bigger school, there’s a lot more people. It’s scary and intimidating to want to dive in.”

Q: Tell me about yourself.

A: “I play lacrosse, basketball and tennis. I do DECA, and I will be in the student store next year — which I am excited about.”

Q: Why did you join SHARE?

A: “I was a SHARE chair last year. I chaired Safe Home, which is a women’s shelter in Johnson County. I am really passionate about volunteering, and I’m really good at organizing things. I like communicating with people. When I learned about being a SHARE executive, and what it was, I heard really good things about it from people who have held the position. I thought that sounded right up my alley.”

Q: What is your goal as a SHARE executive?

A: “My goal is just overall more involvement, and then reaching out to people who are younger. I know a lot of people freshman year don’t really know what SHARE is, and how to get involved. They think it’s harder to get involved than it actually is. I think even getting middle schoolers volunteering with the high schoolers will increase involvement.”
